Oasis in a concrete jungle – Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru, Whitefield

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide recently announced the debut of its rapidly expanding Four Points by Sheraton brand in Bengaluru, with the opening of the Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield. Re-branded after extensive renovation, the hotel is managed by Starwood Hotels and owned by Savannah Hotels Private Limited. Located on the main Whitefield road in the city’s technology hub, Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield is within easy reach from major IT companies as well as the commercial, shopping and entertainment center of this emerging and fast growing micro-market.

I loved the fact that the room is designed with decor which reminds you of South India especially the ruins of Hampi and Karnataka. The management team has commissioned a young artist from Bangalore who converted his pictures of the Karnataka heritage into wonderful wall scaping and posters which adorn all parts of the hotel.

Upon check-in to my room, was pleasantly surprised to see a personal note from Mr.Rajesh Malliya, the general manager of Four Points by Sheraton Whitefield, himself. It was great to know that Mr.Rajesh Malliya has over 19 years of experience in the hospitality industry with close to 10 years experience in Starwood hotels like Le Royal Meridien, The Westin and Sheraton. The note was warmly genuine and personalized which heralded the pleasant stay at the hotel.

There were some really yummy chocolates waiting to welcome me into my room too. It was great to know that with 102 well-appointed and comfortable guest rooms including seven suites, Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield provides everything that matters most – comfortable beds, a delicious breakfast, fresh coffee, free bottled water and WiFi, reflecting the brand’s promise and insight into the needs of today’s traveler.

Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield evokes timeless style with refreshing local touches. Imposing canvas prints of photographs of historic ruins in and around Karnataka adorn the rooms and some public areas while caricatures depicting life in Bengaluru in the 70s at the Best Brews bar lend a sense of location and flavor to the hotel. One striking artifact I liked near the lifts was this amazing Nandi which is over 100 years old and has been restored in this hotel!

The rooms feature the brand’s signature Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed. It has four plush pillows and a soft duvet which ensures that you have a quiet and peaceful sleep. A great sleep leads to a wonderful morning the next day ensuring you are ready to tackle life’s challenges after having rested well the previous night!

In non-vegetarian section, I liked the English breakfast staples like Pork Sausages, Chicken Sausages and of course the Bacon. All of these were freshly prepared and tasted yummy with the generous helping of Cappuccino to go along with it.

If you are the healthy type, you would be spoiled for choices here as you have all the fresh fruits available both in whole and cut pieces. The decor and presentation at The Eatery was very well done too.

Finally how can you say no to desserts like muffins, brownies and donuts early in the morning when you want to get a great start to the day? I was astonished to see the amazing desserts and bread counter which is freshly prepared and tasted great too!

If you thought Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield has only great eateries and nothing else, you are mistaken! After starting your day right with a hot breakfast at The Eatery, you could splash around in the pool or work up a sweat in the 24-hour fitness centre. It was great to stay connected with work and home via High Speed Internet Access throughout the hotel. I’m definitely coming back to Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield for a relaxed weekend with my family!
