Phuket in the South of Thailand is definitely one of the best vacation spots in the world for it’s wonderful weather almost throughout the year and of course the amazing beauty of the nature which you can see here specially the pristine beaches.
Not just beaches, but you can also see Lagoons where some beautiful hotel properties have come up. One of the prime ones is Angsana Laguna Phuket which is located near Bang Tao beach. It is just about 20 minutes drive from Phuket airport or Phuket town but it’s definitely a world apart as you will feel you have landed in paradise!
What I loved was the fact that all cottages and rooms are situated within the Lagoon which snakes through the entire property. There are regular boats inside the Lagoon which takes you on rounds across the property as some of the dining options and the sea are a bit far away.
When we reached there, we were given a traditional welcome by Angsana Laguna Phuket team who are very helpful and hardworking. Their hospitality and customer service was quite commendable and they also tied us a kind of friendship band to showcase gratitude to us.
The rooms were huge and spacious and were tastefully decorated with local artifacts which you can’t find in other parts of the world! Elephants being an integral part of Thailand are seen as theme in most of the decorations.
We stayed in Laguna Grand Room which not just has a bedroom but also an attached living room which not just provides couches for your kids but also offers you a place to relax while watching Television.
Toilets are spacious and equipped with all the modern amenities. I did miss a bath tub though which would have added it a more classy touch.
The balcony of the room was fantastic from where we had view of the swimming pool and an artificial beach created near the pool. Further away we even had very good views of the Lagoon with beautiful coconut trees all around. It definitely reminded me of Kerala in India.
There is a regular ferry which connects the rooms to the beach, to exclusive restaurants and to other parts of the resort too. We didn’t get much time to go on that ferry but we admired the breathtaking sunset on the lagoon.
The picture perfect cottages are a perfect getaway not just for Honeymooning couples but also families with children who want to get away from their mundane life and take a break to rejuvenate themselves!
We also loved seeing the Xana Beach Club with Attica where guests could sip their cocktails sitting in the beach chairs while cooling their heels in the swimming pool! You are pretty much confined to the resort when you stay there so don’t think about venturing out during your stay here. Relax and recharge yourself before you head out to more party places like Patong beach. You can always catch the regular shuttle from here and back!
