Amazing brews and amazing food at Big Pitcher Bangalore

For those who love Breweries, Big Pitcher has opened up on Old Airport Road in Bangalore. This is the biggest craft brewery in Bangalore with more than 6 floors of awesome fun! Though the place opened more than 6 months back, it’s only recently that they got the brewing license which has made them come out with some exemplary brews!

The brews on tap were Adjust Maadi (Hop Twisted Dry Hefeweizen), Czech that pilsner (Wild Cat Slav Lager), Sarava! (suspiciously Brazilian Witbier), Kingslayer (Medieval Dark Wheat Ale) and Hop Witch (Single-Hop mutating ale).

Brewmaster Luiz Fernando Pizzani was there to present to us all the beers and he explained the process behind naming each beer and the entire process of brewing. It was really wonderful to listen to his experiences across the world which made him brew some of the best beers with innovative twists!

Personally I liked Adjust Maadi which is Hop Twisted Dry Hefeweizen. This a blend of Pilsner & Pale Wheat Malt, Waimea (dry-hopped – adding fresh hops to the maturation tanks for that extra punch) New Zealand hops and German Wheat Beer Yeast. It pairs best with Pizza, Salads, Thaifood, Seafood pasta and greasy dishes!

My favorite dish that night was the samundri rattan ka lal quilla. This is a lobster roasted on a tandoor and served in a fantastic manner! I loved the juicy lobster meat!

Another highlight was the martabban tandoori crab along with malai jhinga prawns. The chef Roshan Paully, who had worked with Bukhara in ITC Maurya in Delhi, has joined here at Big Pitcher so they ensure that in food department too, they are always the best and biggest!

Though I’m not much fond of Vegetarian food, I liked dal bukhara which is slow cooked lentils for more than 24 hours inside a pot on a tandoor stove, not gas stove! What an amazing taste it had!

It was wonderful to have such an amazing gastronomical evening with Head Brewer Luiz, corporate chef Roshan Paully and Vice President (Operations) Raghuram M. Looking forward to exploring more of Big Pitcher as it has more than 3 amazing menus spread across 6 floors!

So if you are in the Indiranagar or Old Airport Road, don’t look further than Big Pitcher to have an amazing evening out with food and drinks!
