Oktoberfest and Beer Challenge at The United Sports Bar & Grill

The United Sports Bar & Grill celebrated Oktoberfest with a difference by introducing fun filled Oktoberfest Games, special German inspired menu, themed décor and much more. In food, we could indulge in tarts, sauerbraten, Bavarian meat balls among others. The Oktoberfest menu gave us the German kick adding to the celebrations!

My partner-in-crime Nivedith Gajapathy and I did the video review of the Oktoberfest menu at The United Sports Bar & Grill thanks to towntrendz.com team. Here is the video.. if you want to just read more details, you can read the blog post below!

We also took the Beer Bong Challenge and had a chat with the Manager and Chef of The United Sports Bar & Grill about the Oktoberfest celebrations. Please see the video here.

In vegetarian starters, tried out the Cheesy Potato & Mushroom Tarts. This was warm ragout tarts filled with German styled carmalized onions, herbs, potatoes and mushroom. I felt these were a bit dry and could have done well with a dip!

Another vegetarian starter was the Stuffed Aranchini with Mango Salsa. These were Risotto rice fried and mixed with fresh water chestnut and mushrooms and served with spicy Mango Salsa. The Mango Salsa was to die for! Excellent vegetarian dip!

Now coming to my favorite Non-Vegetarian section! Started with Grilled German Sausages. These were grilled sausages layered with cheese and wrapped with imported bacon! It was pure sin but what an amazing taste!

One of the highlights was the next non-vegetarian starter which was Bavarian Meat Balls. This is imported beef slowly cooked and made to perfection and tossed with tangy tomato sauce. It was melt in mouth goodness! Was amazed by this perfection!

Next up was Chicken Blue Schnitzel which is mouth watering Crispy Chicken stuffed with Cheese and enveloped with imported chicken salami. I found this to be very tasty and yummy.

Vegetarian main course was the Layered Potato Cakes with Cheese. This was scrumptious trio of grilled potato pan cakes layered with grilled herbed tomatoes and imported cheese and served with ribbon cut zucchini. I felt this was a bit inadequate for vegetarians. It could have been more substantial!

Beer Roasted Spring Chicken was one of the main highlights of Non-Vegetarian Main Course. This was juicy spring chicken infused with herbs and beer overnight and roasted to perfection and served with green veggies and cheesy mashed potatoes.

My absolute favorite though was the Chargrilled Fish with Pickled Sauerkraut. This was perfectly char grilled basa fish which was served with assorted red cabbage and apple Sauerkraut and tossed with fresh green peas. The fish was perfectly salted without over burning or over salting as you can see at many restaurants! Would just return to The United Sports Bar & Grill for this dish if I can!

To finish the elaborate menu, the dessert was Baked Phili Cheese Cake which is Philadelphia cheese baked and drizzled with fresh blueberry compote. It was a perfect sweet ending to a wonderful menu!

The United Sports Bar & Grill is a wonderful place to unwind with family for a game or two along with yummy food and perfect drinks after you are exhausted with all the shopping at Phoenix Market City!
