Blogger’s meetup and Meet the Chefs at Rajdhani Thali Restaurant Bangalore

Rajdhani Thali Restaurants are one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants, which is saying a lot as I have very very few vegetarian restaurants in my list of favorites. The Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisine served there is truly out of the world and pleases all your five senses into enjoying a perfect meal without any guilt of indulgence. So when I was invited there recently for ‘Meet the Chefs’ program and Blogger’s meetup, I was really excited and prepared myself for the feast which lay ahead by not eating any breakfast! We got exclusive access to the kitchens of Rajdhani and got to meet Unit Sales & Operations Manager Mr.Maltesh Patil & the main Chef (called ‘Maharaj’) Mr.Devisinghji along with his associates who help him turn out some exquisite varieties of food!

Mr.Devisinghji Maharaj, the chief chef of Rajdhani Restaurant Indiranagar prepared a special dish called ‘Gatte Ki Sabji’ and showed us how hygiene and cleanliness is maintained in the preparation at the same time ensuring that the flavor and taste remains top class!

We had a glimpse in the kitchen, of some of the 22,464 delicacies from Gujarat and Rajasthan which form part of the 72 different rotating menus! There are a total of 22 different dishes which are served in every thali either for lunch or dinner. The food reminds you of Sattvic food but I would say the tastes and flavors are very unique and different from it! I was really impressed that for such a busy restaurant, the kitchen is spic and span and maintained regularly like that.

One unique way of making phulkas is that they are first fried on a tava and then tossed onto a gas burner which puffs them up so that they are hot and fresh off the tava!

Don’t those phulkas look very tempting and ready to be devoured? This shows how fresh the food at Rajdhani Restaurants is prepared! Just look at the size of the thali and the variety of food which is served to us!

The pleasant smiles and the hospitable nature of the servers and support staff at Rajdhani Restaurants makes you feel very welcome and like a royalty who is treated to some of the most wonderful food in the world!

We had a good crowd of bloggers and tweeps from Bangalore who attended the ‘Meet the Chefs’ event at Rajdhani Thali Restaurant in Indiranagar, Bangalore. People tweeted, facebooked and blogged about their experiences at this amazing thali restaurant.

One very interesting thing about service at Rajdhani Restaurants is that they use different kinds of hand symbols to order different dishes (when you need a refill in your plate) to ensure that they quickly communicate the message across to servers without making any kind of noise. I was surprised to hear that there are over 40 different kinds of symbols which they have to remember to get their message across!

The highlight of the evening was the Jalebis which were being fried in best oil and then transferred into an amazing thali to be served to all the guests.

Rabdi on top of these Jalebis make them taste like heaven! I was so mesmerized by the taste that I kept ordering more and more of it! There is no limit to the generosity at Rajdhani where they treat you like their personal guests and ensure that you are made to feel like a royal eating some royal food!

Finally my friends and me went to thank Mr.Devisinghji Maharaj who is the chef who conjured up such a lovely feast for us while retaining the authenticity of the Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisines. Looking forward to many more wonderful creations by Maharajji at Rajdhani Thali Restaurants!
