Take your time to savor Black Dog Scotch Whisky

Black Dog Scotch Whisky is not something to be had very quickly or to gulp it down in one shot. Black Dog Scotch makers took their sweet time to make it perfect, so we should take our time to savor it slowly but surely. When Sir Walter Millard founded Black Dog Scotch Whisky 130 years ago, the most important ingredient was not just the best barley or purest water but plenty of time. As years are put into making a Black Dog Scotch bottle like 8 years, 12 years and 18 years, its only fair that we dedicate a bit of time in savoring it.

Sir Walter Millard traveled to Scotland in 1883 in search of the ‘perfect Scotch’. His search ended in a blend crafted by James McKinley from the second generations of the Leith Scotch-whisky blending family. A keen angler, Sir Millard named the scotch in honor of his favorite salmon fishing fly – the Black Dog (used in the Spey and Tay rivers of Scotland since the 19th century). No Scotch has been more loved, no symbol more recognized since!

Black Dog Deluxe Scotch continues to remain faithful to the original blend which is more 130 year old, to this day. To create this, master blenders marry refined scotches and meticulously age them in selected casks for years. So many years gives the blend very good body, warmth and character. As Ashok Capoor, President and Managing Director of United Spirits Limited says, ““We are extremely proud to introduce one of our most awaited luxury labels – Black Dog 21 Year Old, a vintage and smooth luxury scotch by USL. Balance and harmony prevails throughout this noble elegant spirit. Aged in the finest Oloroso sherry for minimum of 30 years, the Matusalem butts provide the perfect platform to marry and mould our Black Dog 21 years old Blended Scotch Whisky.”

An intense amber gold with shimmering highlights in color, the Black Dog 21 Year old is a harmony of delight orchestrated by a multitude of seductive aromas that immediately arouse the senses. Soft peaches and ripe citrus fruits coupled with pear, marzipan and bergamot begin this flirtatious fanfare. The taste is bold and magnificent. Intense flavors of Seville oranges, ripe sweet mangoes and ginger spice reward the palate, and then whispers of bitter chocolate, liquorices and crushed almonds drift lovingly on. So take your time to savour Black Dog Scotch Whisky, don’t be in a hurry!
