At ITC Grand Bharat, the ‘well-being’ kitchens have re-imagined the exceptional cuisines that go beyond European classics, to reconstruct low-calorie gastronome experiences and flavors of Asia, as well as India. Dining options include the ‘Aravali Pavilion’ (3-meal period restaurant) showcasing Modern India Mosaics, ‘The India Room’ (debuting Creative European Classics) and the ‘Peacock Bar’, among others.

Aravali Pavilion

The Aravali Pavilion at ITC Grand Bharat is the retreat’s charming bistro and three-meal period restaurant. The Aravali Pavilion is their coffee shop, and I visited this place for my breakfast and lunch. There is also a verandah if you need a quick bite; it offers you sandwiches, wraps and an assortment of teas, coffees and beverages.

The warm interiors with its murals and cork floors are home to unique culinary concepts such as ‘Swasthya’ cuisine; eating for health and taste, the debut of ‘Modern India Mosaics’ and ITC Hotels’ Signature Mornings, ‘Best of Pavilion’, ‘The Express Wok’ and ‘Local Love’.

Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and tasted yummy. The preparations varied from other ITC properties. Lunch at the Aravali Pavilion and what I liked here were the thali type meal options – we get a meal with one vegetable, one daal, three chapatis, rice, salad and dessert – perfect for one person. I loved it.

The India Room

Creative European Classics: The offerings in this restaurant inspired from the various colonizers from India’s past. At the heart of this depiction lies a confluence of excellent European cuisine that envisages a shared pool of fine European dining. The menu boasts of a vast array of cuisines of the colonizers of India – from the Greeks, the Portuguese, the Dutch, the French, to the British.

The plush interiors in a royal blue and gold theme feature magnificent chandeliers set against silk and French windows that open into the Sunset Boulevard, offering an option to dine al fresco. The India Room, with the waiter taking you through the Indian History and serving you the traditional food. Incredible!

I had dinner in The India Room, and the food is all about plating and exotic flavors. Its European cuisine and I could feel that only fresh produce was used. It was an excellent experience, and the food was mind blowing. The lamb biryani was especially delicious. Desserts were fabulous too.

Peacock Bar

Inspired by the national bird of India, Peacock Bar will offer Molecular Mixology inspired Classic Cocktails and premium spirits from across the world including mature malts, fine wines, exotic champagnes and much more.

The theatrics of the mixologist blend with the gentle jazz strains, abetting the energy of the bar. Guests can enjoy the stillness of time, in the company of their loved ones, while satiating their palate with the finest drinks from around the world.

Note: Peacock Bar, which is decorated with 60000 pieces of stained glass mural and in shades on the peacock.

The Peacock Room is a fantastic bar where you can get great old-school drinks and classic cocktails. The regular tipples are there, besides the flair, but you come here for classic cocktails, laced with lore, and their newer, molecular cousins.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide recently announced the debut of its rapidly expanding Four Points by Sheraton brand in Bengaluru, with the opening of the Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield. Re-branded after extensive renovation, the hotel is managed by Starwood Hotels and owned by Savannah Hotels Private Limited. Located on the main Whitefield road in the city’s technology hub, Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield is within easy reach from major IT companies as well as the commercial, shopping and entertainment center of this emerging and fast growing micro-market.

I loved the fact that the room is designed with decor which reminds you of South India especially the ruins of Hampi and Karnataka. The management team has commissioned a young artist from Bangalore who converted his pictures of the Karnataka heritage into wonderful wall scaping and posters which adorn all parts of the hotel.

Upon check-in to my room, was pleasantly surprised to see a personal note from Mr.Rajesh Malliya, the general manager of Four Points by Sheraton Whitefield, himself. It was great to know that Mr.Rajesh Malliya has over 19 years of experience in the hospitality industry with close to 10 years experience in Starwood hotels like Le Royal Meridien, The Westin and Sheraton. The note was warmly genuine and personalized which heralded the pleasant stay at the hotel.

There were some really yummy chocolates waiting to welcome me into my room too. It was great to know that with 102 well-appointed and comfortable guest rooms including seven suites, Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield provides everything that matters most – comfortable beds, a delicious breakfast, fresh coffee, free bottled water and WiFi, reflecting the brand’s promise and insight into the needs of today’s traveler.

Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield evokes timeless style with refreshing local touches. Imposing canvas prints of photographs of historic ruins in and around Karnataka adorn the rooms and some public areas while caricatures depicting life in Bengaluru in the 70s at the Best Brews bar lend a sense of location and flavor to the hotel. One striking artifact I liked near the lifts was this amazing Nandi which is over 100 years old and has been restored in this hotel!

The rooms feature the brand’s signature Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed. It has four plush pillows and a soft duvet which ensures that you have a quiet and peaceful sleep. A great sleep leads to a wonderful morning the next day ensuring you are ready to tackle life’s challenges after having rested well the previous night!

In non-vegetarian section, I liked the English breakfast staples like Pork Sausages, Chicken Sausages and of course the Bacon. All of these were freshly prepared and tasted yummy with the generous helping of Cappuccino to go along with it.

If you are the healthy type, you would be spoiled for choices here as you have all the fresh fruits available both in whole and cut pieces. The decor and presentation at The Eatery was very well done too.

Finally how can you say no to desserts like muffins, brownies and donuts early in the morning when you want to get a great start to the day? I was astonished to see the amazing desserts and bread counter which is freshly prepared and tasted great too!

If you thought Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield has only great eateries and nothing else, you are mistaken! After starting your day right with a hot breakfast at The Eatery, you could splash around in the pool or work up a sweat in the 24-hour fitness centre. It was great to stay connected with work and home via High Speed Internet Access throughout the hotel. I’m definitely coming back to Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru Whitefield for a relaxed weekend with my family!
